A brutal Digimon who, despite being very young, is full of very high aggressiveness. However, Shoutmon may admit to call any race an amiable companion as soon as its friendship awakens.

Shoutmon has the special function of converting zeal into energy with the device built onto its throat, and its hot desires that burn brightly inside its chest is amplified with his mike, allowing it to strike with "Soul Crusher", which attacks by throwing it at the opponent. As long as its zeal doesn't disappear, Shoutmon won't give up fighting, making Shoutmon a highly-aggressive and brutal Digimon who doesn't care how deep its body gets damaged, because its zeal is the source of its attack power.

It has a penchant for music and song, particularly background music, and if it overhears the sound of nature, like the noise of a babbling brook or leaves blowing in the wind, it will start to hum its own song whilst he searches for someone to fight. If Shoutmon starts to sing, it may perform "Soul Crusher" by accident if it gets too carried away by its singing, so it will often leave the scene and find a place where enemies aren't around so it can sing safely.

Shoutmon has the mysterious habit of acquiring microphones made by the Makufirudo company, and it'll never part with them: it makes Shoutmon... Shoutmon. It is said that should Shoutmon lose his microphone, or put it away, it will rapidly lose power, and before Shoutmon realizes what has happened, it will weaken before long. Therefore, it never conceals its microphone or lets others borrow it. Incidentally, it can also attack with "Rowdy Rocker", which uses its mike like a cudgel, and is excellent not only for the grappling it provides it against his prey, but also gives quite a performance! 血気盛んで非常に攻撃性の高い凶暴なデジモン。しかし仲間に対しては友好的であり、シャウトモンに認められれば種族を超えた親交も深めることができる。

シャウトモンのノドには情熱をエネルギーに変換する特殊な機能があり、胸の奥に燃えさかる熱い想いをマイクで増幅し相手にぶつける「ソウルクラッシャー」という攻撃を行う。情熱こそが攻撃の源であるため、いかに体にダメージを与えようとも、情熱が消えない限りシャウトモンが戦いを諦めることはなく、シャウトモンが攻撃性の高い凶暴なデジモンと言われる由縁である。

凶暴に見える反面、音楽や歌が好きという一面があり、風の音、雨だれ、川のせせらぎ、木の葉のざわめきなど自然の音をＢＧＭに歌を口ずさむのを好む。しばしば歌に熱中しすぎて敵もいないのに「ソウルクラッシャー」を暴発させる場合もあるため、シャウトモンが歌い始めたら気付かれないようにその場を離れるのが無難だろう。

シャウトモンにはマクフィルド社製のマイクを必ず所有するという不思議な習性があり、マイクを持っていないシャウトモンはシャウトモンではない。マイクを無くししまったシャウトモンは、シャウトモンでなくなってしまったショックにより急速にパワーを失い、やがて衰弱してしまうと言われている。よってマイクを隠すなどのイタズラは決してしてはいけない。ちなみにこのマイクを棒術のように使った「ラウディーロッカー」は格闘戦だけではなく、パフォーマンスとしても秀逸である
