メラモンの進化したデジモンで、身を包む炎は高熱化によって青い炎となっている。
もちろん、攻げき力や防ぎょ力も数段アップしており、高熱化した炎自体の威力（いりょく）も加わって、超絶な破かい力をほこるパワータイプのデジモンへと成長した。
一応、火炎型系のデジモンは水系や氷雪系のデジモンに対しては弱いことになっているが、デスメラモンの火力の前には、まさに「焼け石に水」といった程度でしかない。
必殺技もパワーアップしており、体内の重金属を溶かして吐きかける『ヘヴィーメタルファイアー』を修得している。
この凶悪なまでに高熱を発する必殺技をくらったのであれば、水系や氷雪系のデジモンも蒸発してしまうだろう。

Meramon naturally evolves into SkullMeramon.
The power of its flames have powered up more greatly than Meramon's, and
their color changed from red to blue. It bears the power to dissolve
metal just by touching it. In battle, it attacks by spraying the metal
it has dissolved. It has improved amounts of both offensive and
defensive power, and its wide-eyed stare is evidence of the destructive
