A
Digimon with a huge golden scythe who resembles the god
of death. Phantomon differs from
Bakemon in that it is of a
higher class than the ragged Ghost Digimon, and it is
said to completely appear moments before someone dies.
The eyeball-shaped crystal hung around its neck gives
Phantomon a glimpse of the next person to die because it
grants it the power of clairvoyance, ultimately
allowing it to foresee everything in the same fashion
as Mammothmon's crest.
It is said that the innards of the cloth that covers its
body allow it to travel to a Digital World in another
dimension, and its special attack is "Soul Chopper",
which tears up the enemy's soul with its huge golden
scythe. Those who are subjected to this attack will be
deleted sans soul. (Wildermon)

常に抱えている巨大なくさりがまが特ちょう的な、死神のようなゴーストデジモン。バケモンとは違って完全に上級のゴーストデジモンで、ファントモンにとりつかれたら死をかくごするしかない。その首からぶら下げている眼球のような形をした水晶は、マンモンの紋章（もんしょう）と同じく千里眼の力が備わっているため、すべてを見通すことができるという。これにより、死期の近い者も判別してねらいを定めてくるともいわれている。また、バケモン同様にその身体をおおう布の中身は謎に包まれているが、別次元のデジタルワールドに通じているのではないかと考えられている。必殺技の『ソウルチョッパー』は、敵を魂ごと切りさく世にも恐ろしい技だ。
