USA Name / Ebonwumon / Zhuqiaomon

Japanese Name / Xuanwumon

Origin / Chinese. Ebonwumon is a bas translation of Xuanwumon, which comes from the characters meaning "black turtle" (or "mysterious warrior" in Japanese) which are pronounced as genbu in Japanese*

English. Ebon could be short for ebony. Wu could be a misspelling for wood. The chances of this are low, because the name is most likely a mistranslation of Xuanwumon.

Origin / Chinese. It comes from the characters meaning "black turtle" (or "mysterious warrior" in Japanese) which are pronounced as genbu in Japanese*
