A fused Digimon with the head, wings and forefeet of a Bird type Digimon, and the body and tail (with a snake's head attached) of a Beast type Digimon. It is often said that he lives in caves across either desert or mountainous regions, but he can also fly across the sky with his wings. Moreover, Gryphonmon's offensive power and brilliant well-trained movement allows him to trifle with his enemies, making it difficult for others to defeat Gryphomon. In order to demonstrate this skill to its limits, he is often used as a security guard, preventing unlawful invasions on the Internet and protecting various users' personal data from them. His special attack is "Supersonic Voice", which emits a super high-pitched sound wave that destroys the enemy's structure data. (Wildermon)

鳥型デジモンの頭と翼、前足を持ち、胴体は獣型デジモン、尻尾には蛇のようなものが付いている合体デジモン。その翼で大空を飛び回ることができるが、普段は砂漠地帯や山岳地帯の洞窟に棲んでいると言われている。また、グリフォモンの攻撃力は非常に高く、俊敏な動きで敵を翻弄するためグリフォモンを倒すことは困難を極める。その性能を生かし、インターネット上では不法な侵入を防ぐ番人や、機密情報のセキュリティとして利用されている。必殺技は超高周波の音波を出し、敵のデータ構造を破壊してしまう『スーパーソニックボイス』。
