A Flame Digimon whose Digi-Core, said to be the heart of all Digimon,
burns vigorously on its head. The burning fire on its head is said to be
its Digi-Core because as soon it goes out, Candlemon would no longer be
able to survive for much longer. One theory states that the constant
burning body on top of its head is Candlemon itself, and the other parts
of its body might be there as a decoy. As a Flame Digimon, it has a very
calm personality and won't bring itself to harm others around it. Its
special attack is "Bonfire", which fires out small flames.

当然のことながら、頭の上で燃えているデジコアの火が消えると、キャンドモンは生命活動を維持（いじ）できなくなってしまうようだ。このため一部の研究者のなかでは、頭上の炎の部分が本体で、ロウソクのような身体の部分は単なるダミーではないかと考えられている。
性格は火炎型のデジモンにしては珍しく、非常に温こうでおとなしい。そのため、自分から周囲に危がいを加えるようなことは決してない。
思わぬ敵におそわれるなどして、やむを得ない場合のみ、小さな火球を吐き出す必殺技『ボンファイア』で反げきしてくる。

A candle-shaped Flame Digimon. The top of its head has caught fire, and
it dies when the fire is put out. Therefore, it's said that the fire
itself is its true form and the lower half of its body is fake. In
battle, it hurls low-powered fireballs at the enemy. Its physical form
gives off a terrible impression, but it is much quieter than you might
think and it's rare for it to battle in order to progress. (Wildermon)
